24.5 Week Ultrasound

Getting to see your babies through ultrasound every two weeks is incredible.  It is amazing how much they grow and change over such a short period of time!  I went to the specialist today and the girls are doing GREAT!  He said that they are developing perfectly and that they each weigh 1 lb. 11 oz.  Here are a few pictures from my visit.

A STEAL!!!

On Friday, friends of ours were at a huge neighborhood garage sale and happened upon a double stroller. This wasn't just any double stroller, it was a double Maclaren stroller.  For those who are moms, you know that these are great strollers, but they have quite a high price tag.  New, the double is over $350.  So...guess how much they snagged this one for?? $35! Literally 90% off!  It is in excellent condition and I am so pumped about it.  This is by far the greatest deal I have gotten on anything in my life, so I am still in shock!

Consignment Sale #2

This past Saturday, Melissa and I hit up a second multiples consignment sale.  Melissa had an extra crib mattress that she gave us, but since we need 2, I was hoping to find another one at the sale.  We were able to find several and I scored a great one for $3.00!  What a deal!  My favorite find of the day was two Gymboree backpacks for the girls.  I had their names embroidered on them and they are absolutely ADORABLE!  They are set to take a trip to Mimi & Pop Pop's house:)

PS - Their names are going to be Kate Linley and Anna Elise.

Two in a Row

Last weekend, Phil and the R2B2 team were in Charlotte, NC for another race.  There was a different driver this time, but they raced the same car and it won again!  Their driver ran in the final race against R2B2's other female driver, making it the first time that two female drivers raced each other in the final round.  Phil's car won again.  Let's see if they can make it 3 in a row with the last race of the season in Las Vegas in a few weeks!

22.5 Week Ultrasound

I went to the specialist for my bi-monthly appointment today.  He said that everything looks PERFECT and that the girls are growing and developing on schedule.  It has been such a blessing to be able to see our babies through an ultrasound every few weeks...if we do happen to decide to have more children, I will have been spoiled by this pregnancy and all of the attention I am getting from my doctors!  Praise the LORD for another great visit and for two healthy baby girls!

By the way, if you look closely, one of the girls seems to be saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIMI!!!"

Winner's Circle

Since January, Phil has been working as a mechanic for a drag racing team.  The team is based nearby, but they travel to races all over the United States.  Over Labor Day weekend, they were in Indianapolis which, according to Phil, is the "Super Bowl" of drag racing.  They had built a new car for the race and even had a new driver.  Well, they must have done a pretty good job building the car, because they WON!  Here is a picture of the team in the winner's circle (Phil is second from the right).

The BOB

Those who know me know that I am a planner and I like to think ahead....sometimes WAY ahead! Usually this only works out for the better in my life, but this time, not so much! Last year sometime, before Phil quit working at REI, he was at the scratch and dent sale and called me all excited because there was a brand new BOB stroller for $125! Someone had returned it and they couldn't resell it at the full price! We decided to buy it, even thought we weren't pregnant yet and had no clue when that might actually happen. Phil took it apart and we put it under the bed in one of the spare bedrooms. Needless to say, we will not be needing a single jogging stroller! We decided to put it up on Craig's list and it sold the very next day! We made $125 profit on it and plan to put the $250 towards a double jogging stroller:)

20.5 Week Ultrasound

I went to the high risk OB today and had another ultrasound. He said that each time I go they will check the fluid in each baby's sack to make sure the levels are ok and that each baby is relatively the same size and weight. Today, everything looked perfect! The fluids looked great and the girls weighed 12 oz. and 13 oz. They gave me another CD of pictures and another DVD...I guess that is routine...but I am going to end up with a ton of pictures of these girls before they are even born. Oh, another thing they check every time I go is my cervix. Apparently, mine is "nice and long" (according to the doctor) which means that I have a lower risk of delivering early! That is great news since I am trying to make it until Christmas break to stop teaching! Here are a few pictures, but the girls seemed a bit shy today (or stubborn...which is probably the case with me as their mother) and didn't want to show their faces much. We got a decent shot of one...which I guess technically means we got a decent shot of both since they will look exactly alike!

20.5 Weeks

In three short weeks (see belly photo from 17.5 weeks) I feel as though I have gotten huge. I know that I am carrying twins, but for some reason I didn't expect to pop out so quickly. I mean, my belly button is almost gone already!
