Pop Comes to Visit

The girls are still getting used to outsiders visiting us at home.  Pop came to visit for the weekend and it took them awhile to warm up to him...but eventually they did.  He even got a few smiles out of both of them!  Phil was definitely thankful to have the extra hands on all of his weekend projects.

While Phil was out of town, a sweet girl from church watched the girls for most of the time I was at work.  There was one morning that she had class and couldn't watch the girls until after lunch, so Melissa generously offered to watch them.  They had a great time and took a great nap for her!  Thanks so much for taking care of these little stinkers for the morning!

Phil took the girls in for their 9 month check-up yesterday and all of their measurements were exactly the same!  They are growing like weeds and changing every day.  They make us smile every single day and we are so thankful that God has blessed us with the joy of parenting these sweet girls!
Weight: 18 lbs. 2.5 oz. (40th percentile)
Length: 27 1/4 inches (45th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 3/4 inches (80th percentile)

...because these little ladies are about to be ON THE MOVE!!  And we think they keep us busy now?!

Best Mimi EVER!!

I don't think I will ever be "grown up" enough to not absolutely LOVE having my mommy take care of me!  This past week, Phil has been in Indianapolis for a race and my mom graciously offered to come up and watch the girls while I was at work.  She was supposed to fly in on Sunday night, but because of Hurricane Isaac, her flight was canceled.....so, she drove the whole way up!  She got here Sunday night and hasn't stopped since she walked through our door.  Not only has she watched the girls all day every day, she has also filled our freezer to overflowing with delicious meals that I can thaw and pop into the oven on my oh so busy nights when I don't have time to cook!  She has done our laundry, cleaned our house, bought us groceries and diapers....just to mention a few things!  She has loved and served and spoiled all of us all week!  I am so thankful for every minute we get to share together and am blessed to have such an awesome Godly example in my life.  I am so thankful that our girls get to have her as their Mimi!
