Poor Little Guy!

As if having a 3-week old baby and trying to get ready for a Halloween party tonight weren't enough...my poor sister-in-law had to visit the ER today to get her little guy stitched up!
He seems pretty calm even though there is a huge gash in his forehead!

 Little Dylan...8 stitches later:(

My Creative Sister

My sister Melissa never ceases to amaze me!  A few weeks ago I asked if she would paint the letters for the girls' names for their room....this is what she came up with.  Not only did she do an AMAZING job, she chose to do this on her day without kids as she recovered from her second surgery!  THANKS LIS!!!! I can't wait to hang them up:)

I mean....seriously....she could sell these!!

No Clue

These two have no clue what is about to happen to their posh little world!   They are definitely in for a rude awakening!!

Third Trimester

I can't believe I am in the last trimester!  This pregnancy has been so enjoyable and thankfully uneventful (I almost feel bad blogging about it because I know that there are some people who have really rough pregnancies)!  I went to see the specialist today (unfortunately we couldn't get any good pictures of Kate & Anna) and he said that they couldn't be doing better!  They are up to 2 lbs. 12 oz. and 2 lbs. 11 oz.  One of them is still breech, but I am hoping she will turn before she decides to arrive!  I would love to have the girls naturally, but I have asked my doctor what my options are if one of them is breech (just in case she doesn't turn).  He said he can either deliver both by c-section or the one that is head-down naturally and the one that is breech by c-section.  Umm....I am thinking that if they aren't both head-down, I will probably opt for a c-section....no thank you to recovering from both!

Side note: We are almost done with their nursery and will post pictures soon!

We're not ready!

The other night Phil and I were talking about the girls (I am pretty sure the conversation started with how big my belly had gotten) and it hit me...at most, we have 11 more weeks until the girls are here (and most likely it will not even be that long).  WHAT?  We're not ready!  The girls' room isn't even close to being finished and baby stuff is EVERYWHERE!  Although I am extremely grateful to have been given so many hand-me-downs and gifts...I am running out of places to put everything.  I know, I know....it will only get worse!

Here's the deal.  I have been impatiently waiting to have a day off of school so that we can have our carpets cleaned.  Once that occurs, we can put the second crib together and finish the girls' room.  It is FINALLY happening on Monday:)  Even if I wasn't "nesting", the current state of disorganization would be driving me NUTS!  I can't wait to put everything in its place!

26.5 Week Ultrasound

Another great visit to the doctor!  I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing the girls through an ultrasound.  The doctor said they look amazing and that they are both over 2 pounds now (one is 2 lbs 1 oz and the other 2 lbs 2 oz).  I have been feeling them move for quite some time, but I don't know if I will ever get "used" to it.  It is so amazing to me that there are two completely formed human beings living and growing inside of me...what an amazing miracle only GOD is capable of!  They move ALL THE TIME!  They are constantly kicking and rolling about.  I honestly don't see how I have enough room for them to get much bigger!  We got a few good face shots at the doctor, but again, only one would show her face:)

My First Baby Shower!

I am so blessed by God to have the family that I do!  They are absolutely incredible and I am so thankful that our girls will be born into such an amazing heritage!  Last weekend my sister's gave me the most beautiful baby shower down in Florida at mom & dad's house.  It was such a special time with family and friends.  The decorations and flowers were so beautiful, and since some of the decorations were pairs of clothing...I got to keep everything for Kate & Anna!

Since the shower was in Florida (and airlines charge an arm and a leg for bag fees these days!), Melissa and Katie decided to make it a gift card shower.  I was OVERWHELMED by the generosity of our friends and family!  What a blessing they have been for us as we purchase two of almost everything:)  Everyone brought one of their favorite childhood books too, so we have a ton of books to read to the girls...I can't wait!

Pepe Frye is one of the most special people in my life.  She was like a second mother to me growing up.  She is one of those people that you absolutely LOVE being around and spending time with.  She shared a sweet devotion about the gift of motherhood...what a sweet, sweet woman!
My Aunt Barbara also shared a cute poem about the amazing capabilities one must possess in order to be a mother:)
Look at all that PINK!

The hostesses!

Saturday was a day full of parties!  Once the shower was over, we headed to the Frye's to celebrate Taylor's first birthday...what a CUTIE PIE!!

Isn't she precious??

After all that partying...Allie needed a bath :)
With two older brothers, it's not very often she gets a quiet tub to herself!

As if two parties in one day weren't enough, we ended the night by celebrating our sweet dad's birthday. This is the sweetest, most loving, giving, precious man on earth...and I cannot wait for my girls to meet their Pop Pop!
If I wasn't 7 months pregnant with twins, I would loathe myself in these
pictures...but I have to document the memories!

Happy Birthday, dad! You are more wonderful than words can say.
