A Day in the Life of Two Two-Year-Olds

Anna & Kate are TWO!

I cannot believe that Anna and Kate are TWO!!  It seems like just yesterday my water broke in the middle of the night and they arrived almost two months early.  Phil and I joked today that we were the ones who should be getting presents today - for surviving the first two years of parenthood!  God has been so good to us, and although it has been seemingly impossible at times, He has carried us through each and every low and high point over the past 2 years.  We are beyond grateful for His goodness to us and for blessing us with our sweet girls.

Grammy and Papa gave the girls their presents a few days early - adorable dresses!  The girls insisted on putting them on as soon as they opened them!
Bottom right - reading their singing cards from Mimi & Pop Pop - they were a HIT!

Even though the girls are still a bit sick (which it seems has been the case since September), we spent the morning at Catch Air with our cousins and had a blast!  When we first got there, Kate wanted nothing to do with it, while Anna was all over the place.  About 30 minutes in, they switched roles (which is fairly typical).  After about an hour and a half, Kate walked toward the front and kept saying "home", so we decided to leave.
Andrew, Jacob, and Allie had a blast!

So glad these cuties could join us to celebrate the girls' birthday!
Anna (L) & Kate (R) - Despite their serious faces, they had tons of fun!
They stacked blocks forever!
When we got home, Pop stopped by for a visit.  As always, it took the girls a little while to warm up to him, but once they did, they were all about Pop and thought he was so "silly"!

After dinner, we had Aunt Melissa (and her gang) and Aunt Staci (and her gang) over for cake and ice cream.  Aunt Melissa and I made the girls a Barney cake!

Aunt Melissa and Aunt Katie gave the girls babies that the girls could take in the bath - they LOVE them!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our sweet (and getting to be sassy) two year olds!  We are so blessed to be your mommy and daddy and we can't believe God gave you to us! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Thanksgiving at School

The girls celebrated Thanksgiving this week at school with a finger food feast!
Honestly, have you ever seen a cuter indian or pilgrim?

Uncle Garrett & Aunt Sam Visit

Uncle Garrett and Aunt Sam drove to Franklin this week on their way to Tennessee for their WEDDING!  Today, they stopped by to spend the day with Phil and the girls and even hung around (and bought me dinner) after Phil went to work.  It took the girls awhile to warm up to them, but once they did, they had a blast!

Thanks for coming to visit! We can't wait to celebrate your marriage at your wedding with you next weekend!

Jammin' Out

Daddy taught the girls to play the harmonica!

Playing Nicely

For the most part, the girls play nicely together.  Of course, there are times when there is hitting and pushing, but overall, they do pretty well.  Lately, they are getting better at playing together by themselves.

Play Date with Cousins

I am pretty sure that I would not survive motherhood without my sisters!  Melissa OFTEN watches the girls for us, but it is not very often that I get to return the favor.  Last Saturday, Melissa had a party to go to and John was out of town, so the cousins came over for a play date!  The boys had a blast tiring Bella out by playing ball with her (she is OBSESSED with playing ball and LOVES anyone who will play with her) while Allie played babies and the girls followed her around.  We also had fun playing with playdough.

I love living so close to family and that the girls have so many cousins close in age!

Boots

Boots go with any outfit, right?  The girls seem to think so!
Kate prefers the snow boots, while Anna prefers the more trendy suede ones :)

Fun at the Fall Festival and Trick-or-Treating

It was so much fun getting the girls dressed up and seeing them participate in the fall festivities this year!  They had fun playing games at our church Fall Festival and trick-or-treating with their cousins.

What do you dress up as if you are twins that were born on Black Friday?  Why, BOGO, of course!

On Halloween night, we were invited to join the Batusic clan for pizza at Grandaddy's house and trick-or-treating around his neighborhood.  The girls had a blast!

Check out these cuties!

Even though the girls really had no clue what they were doing, by the second house they had figured out that people were giving away candy and all they had to do was take it and put it in their bag.  As you can see by this picture, Kate was eagerly headed to the next house to claim her loot!

I am thinking that next year I will still be able to get away with choosing the girls' costume for them - any cute ideas for me?

Little Gymnists

The girls seem as though they are going to be little athletes!  They love to run, jump, gallop, swing, hang, do forward rolls, walk backwards...and they are pretty coordinated too!

The Munzes Come to Visit

Chad and his family came to visit us in Georgia!  The Redland Company is doing a job in Atlanta and Chad needed to come up to visit the jobsite, so he brought the whole family along!  Unfortunately, the girls were sick most of the time they were here, so we didn't get over to Melissa's much to visit.  I was able to take Friday off, and since the girls were better (not well, but better) by then, we all headed up to the orchards to spend the day together.

The kids had so much fun eating apple donuts, sliding on the big slide (Anna was a mad woman on that thing!), visiting the petting zoo and riding the hay wagon (which, incidentally, had no hay)!

One of the highlights of the day was the pig race!  No pictures of the pigs, but here are some spectators!

We were so grateful to spend time with our family!  The girls love playing with their cousins!!

Fun at School!

The girls LOVE school!  They especially love having Aunt Ma as their teacher and I love that I get special mommy priveledges because she is their teacher (shhhh...don't tell any of the other mommies!).  They have so much fun every time they go, and Aunt Ma says they squeal with excitement over everything they do!  Here are some fun things they have been doing:

The firemen come to visit!!
I was pretty shocked that the girls didn't cry when the fireman picked them up!

We love Aunt Ma!!
Kate the other day after school - wore her out!

Picture day was this week and Melissa said they did great! I can't wait to see how they turned out!  Stay tuned....
