15-Week Check Up

I went to the doctor today for a check up. Even though he didn't do an ultrasound, it was fun because my mother-in-law got to go with me. He listened to both heartbeats and they were strong! I go to visit the high-risk OB on August 17th to check things out and hopefully find out the sex(es)!!

The In-Laws Come to Visit

Over the weekend, Cathy (Nana), Hunter, Garrett and Sam came to visit. We haven't seen Cathy and Hunter in a very long time, so it was quite a treat to spend 5 days with them. Cathy and Hunter arrived on Thursday night in time for dinner and Garrett and Sam drove in late that night and surprised Cathy the next morning. It was great to have everyone together! It is really sweet how excited everyone is about the twins - even Garrett and Hunter:) I was not very good about getting pictures, but here are a few of our time together.

On Friday, we visited Phil at work.

Garrett's birthday was last weekend, but we celebrated together this weekend.

Hunter had 2 miniature hamsters he brought with him. We let Rock check them out one night. It was really funny watching a 70 pound dog get scared by such a small animal! We didn't dare let Bella in the room...both hamsters would have been gonners!

Cathy is REALLY excited about being a grandma! She brought these cute outfits with her for the twins. Aren't baby things even cuter when they come in twos???

Baby Belly - 14 Weeks

Proudly, none of the clothes I am wearing are maternity! Sadly, it has only been about 6 days since this picture was taken and I cannot say the same for today:(

Go Braves!

Even though I have lived near Atlanta for four years, I have never been to a Braves game. I must admit, I am not much of a baseball fan and think that next to golf, it is probably the most boring sport to watch on TV. However, I do think that actually going to a baseball game can be fun! Last night we went out to dinner with Melissa and JB and then headed to the game. It was fun to spend time just the four of us! We had a blast and even stopped for dessert on the way home!

PS: Please don't mind how horrible I look....I am in that "look fat, but not pregnant yet" stage...YUCK!

Not too bad for $10 a ticket!!

I must admit, I have no idea who that is! In fact,
I can honestly only name two men on the team:(
True Braves fans out there, please don't judge me!

Our First Baby Gear!

While in Florida, my sister's friend Becky (a mother of twins) and I had a chance to chat. It was so great to get advice from someone who has been through what we are about to experience. When I asked her what gear was essential, she said that a twin pack n' play was a must! Also, while in Florida, my Uncle Mike called and said that someone in his church had just gotten rid of a twin pack n' play. He and my aunt went ahead and took it thinking they would eventually find someone who could use it. As soon as he heard I was having twins, he called...what great timing!! It is practically brand new! Thanks Uncle Mike and Aunt Isabelle!

When we got back from vacation, there was a package from our dear friends Grace & Pete waiting for us. They spent a few weeks in Wyoming this summer and picked up these cute outfits for the twins...their first set of clothes! Thanks for thinking of us while you were on vacation!

Florida!

We are so blessed by God to have the family that we do! We spent the entire week at mom and dad's house and we had a blast! In a way, it was bittersweet for me...this is the last family trip that I will just get to be Aunt Mary Anne:( It has been so much fun being able to spend all of my time loving on my nieces and nephews! Here are some pics from the week...I bet you wish you were there!!

Eatin' popsicles by the pool!

Who needs a water park when you can just hang out at Mimi and Pop Pop's house??

Allie Grace! It was her first trip to Mimi and Pop Pop's house!!

Uncle Phil and the kiddos.

Best Buds!

Watching a movie with the kiddos in Mimi and Pop Pop's bed.
Shhhhhh....don't tell Mimi we were eating popcorn in her bed!

Headed to Chad & Lauren's house for a game of THINGS.
Always fun when you can ride over on the golf cart:)

To celebrate Katie's 30th birthday, we left the kids at home with
babysitters and headed to Ocean Reef for the day. It was fun to
spend time with just the adults! We hung out by the pool, played
beach volleyball, Katie got a massage, had lunch and explored the Reef on golf carts.

Sweet ride!!

Excuse me. Does the Cuban Sandwich come with Bartledoo?

Strangely enough, the Sunshine State wasn't all
that sunny this trip. Although it was nice because
it wasn't quite so hot, it can be a challenge to keep
9 kids entertained when it rains all day! On one
particularly rainy day, we headed to the Miami
Children's Museum. It was everyone's first time
there and we had a ton of fun!!

Jake listening to some music.

Honestly, I don't think it is possible to get any cuter than this!

Uncle Ray

I will always remember our trip home to Florida this summer as the one when we said goodbye to Uncle Ray. Uncle Ray had been battling diabetes and several other things (mainly complications due to the diabetes) for many years and lost his battle on July 3, 2011. What a blessing it was to be able to spend time with Melissa, Katie, and Chad all together saying goodbye to him. We talked to him, prayed for him, and shared stories about him...I will never forget our last time with him. I honestly think that almost anyone who knows our family also knew Uncle Ray. He was definitely one of a kind! We will miss him so much and family gatherings will never be the same.
