More Gingerbread Houses

We LOVE our new church and have really gotten plugged in!  We participated in their annual gingerbread house night - so much fun!

We couldn't get the roof to stand up, so we went with a flat roof beach house!

Gingerbread Houses!

A sweet colleague invited us to her house to decorate gingerbread houses! They have been doing this with a few other friends for years and graciously included us in the festivities this year.  The girls had a blast!

Decorating for Christmas

The girls had so much fun decorating the tree at Aunt Katie's house, we just had to put ours up as soon as we got home!  We didn't get very many pictures and decided not to get all of the decorations out, but the girls had a ball putting all the ornaments on the tree!

Healthy & Strong!

This past week the girls went for their 3 year checkup. They have FINALLY gotten to the point where they "like" visiting the doctor's office (which makes the whole experience much more pleasant for mommy & daddy).

Check out these cuties in their little gowns!
Anna (L) & Kate (R)
As has been the case, they are pretty much identical in their stats:
Anna
Height - 39" (89th percentile)
Weight - 35 lbs (84th percentile)

Kate
Height - 39" (89th percentile)
Weight - 34.5 lbs (81st percentile)

Dr. Onal said they are healthy and strong!

Thanksgiving in Chicago!

This year we were so excited to head up north to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with the Henry Gang!

We left after work on Friday and drove to Lexington, which was almost exactly half way.

We got up the next morning and drove the rest of the way to Chicago and arrived just after lunch.
We were so excited to see the Henry Gang - but we were especially excited to meet our cousin Kai!!
This kid is a SERIOUS cutie pie!

We hung out at Katie's, had some yummy stuffed shells for dinner, and then headed to the mall for some hair cuts.

We spent Sunday enjoying spending time together and worshipping at church.
On Monday, we went to the Shed Aquarium - SO.MUCH.FUN!

As you can see from the bottom right hand picture, it started snowing while we were at the aquarium.  Just enough for the kiddos to have fun - but not too much to make things sloppy :)

On Tuesday, we celebrated the girls' birthday - can't believe they are 3!!  We decided to wait until Friday to have their actual birthday party so Mimi and Pop Pop could celebrate with us.  So, we decided to keep their actual birthday pretty low key :)

We started off with donuts for breakfast and a present from mommy & daddy!

I got invited by this little guy to be his special guest at his Thanksgiving Feast - such a cutie!

Then we spent the day laying low. The girls played with their new Frozen magnets and watched Curious George in the fort with their cousins.

Finally, cupcakes after dinner.

Wednesday we went to Westmont Yard with the whole gang for a few hours - what a neat place!

Mimi and Pop Pop flew in late Wednesday night, just in time to celebrate Thanksgiving!

Katie and I played Martha Stewart for the day while Mimi, Pop Pop and the dads entertained the kiddos.  We made pancakes for breakfast and then got started on Thanksgiving Lunch - which was served at 2.  So much fun spending the day with my sis in the kitchen!  Many thanks to Phil for frying the turkey! It was delicious!!!

Mimi wanted to help, so we let her crumble the bread crumbs for the corn casserole.  Of course, she had lots of little hands that wanted to help too! She is always so patient with them!!

Ali and Canyon were really into shooting Canyon's bow - and with Pop Pop around, they thought they'd get a few lessons in from the pro!  Check out little Kai all bundled up - TOO CUTE!

Meanwhile, inside, Katie and I were preparing for our feast :)

After dinner, we decorated the Christmas tree!  Well, when I say "we", I really mean Katie, Jud, and most of the kiddos. Mimi and GG helped organize ornaments and Pop Pop and I sat on the couch while Anna was zonked after a yummy meal!

On Friday, the girls took the kiddos to play while the men and Canyon went to Cabela's.

On Friday afternoon, I finished decorating the cake, Katie and Ali put up the decorations and we got the Frozen Birthday Party started!  What better to wear to a Frozen birthday party than Queen Elsa dresses?? Thank you Mimi and Pop Pop!!

First up - craft time to make Frozen slime!

Next up - pizza (Chicago style of course!), birthday cake, and presents!

We finished off the night with a Frozen karaoke concert - what a great birthday! Thank you so much to our cousins for making it extra special!

On Saturday, the weather was gorgeous, so we took advantage and played outside most of the morning.  After lunch, we packed up our things and headed back south.

We had SO MUCH FUN spending time with our family celebrating the girls' 3rd birthday and Thanksgiving!  Thank you so much Henry family for rolling out the red carpet for us!  We really hope we can make this an annual tradition!

We love you all and can't wait to see you in a few weeks for Christmas in Homestead!

Birthday Celebration with Pop

The day before we left for Chicago, Pop came down and we celebrated the girls' birthday with dinner at Quillian's Grill and a few small presents.

Big Girl Beds!

Since the girls were about to turn 3, we decided it was time to make the move to "big girl beds"! In reality, they are basically still in a crib - but they don't know that! (shhhhhh!)
